Since most of the software in Internet archives is compressed to save disk space and transfer time, having this software is sometimes necessary!

Mozilla is the free, open source, non-commericial version of Netscape and it doesn't contain any Instant Messaging software or advertismentss! It does include "Composer", a decent webpage editor and a pop-up ad blocker. Using Mozilla instead of IE can help you avoid "catching" viruses from webservers.

Publishing - Programs to Prepare Images for the WWW
This software can be used to convert images from several formats into the Graphic Interface Format (.gif) or JPEG (.jpeg) needed to be used on WWW pages. It is highly recommended that you use this software to reduce the number of colors in your images to 256, the resolution to 72 dpi (dots per inch) and to "crop" out the unnecessary portions of the image.

Time Setting Programs
This software can be used automatically set the clock on your computer from a "master clock" on the Internet. Usually, the software will automatically adjust for daylight savings time, time zones, etc.
