Barb ThrasherBarb has been teaching at ESD 105 for six years. "Technology Champion" - a tag line that has been used on her school snail mail for a long time - suits her well. She has been in the Goldendale School District since 1988 as District Library/Media Specialist. Since Library/Media Centers are frequently high tech areas, the role of technology training and "Technology Champion" fit very easily into her job. Since she loves teaching, it also suits her to teach at the ESD. Barb says "I thoroughly enjoy teaching the groups of adults who need some guidance with the introductory aspect of my classes here at the ESD". In her spare? time she performs with several local ensembles as a flautist.
Susan KaphammerSusan Kaphammer began teaching in Western Montana with middle school and high school English classes. She soon moved into Library-Media, enjoying the opportunity to interact with and support the entire range of curriculum. After moving to Yakima and spending a few years working with early childhood education, health and social service agencies, Susan found a professional home with the Mt. Adams School District in White Swan. She has served there since 1995 as Library-Media Specialist for grades 6-12. Technology is a natural extension of her mission to ensure that staff and students are effective users of information. As an early owner of an original 128k Macintosh, Susan has long appreciated computers as personal and professional tools. "Teaching at the ESD gives me another chance to help others become comfortable with and adept at using computer technology."
Jason WashburnJason Washburn currently serves the staff and students of Christa McAuliffe Academy as the Database Specialist & Application Programmer. He graduated in 2001 with his BA in Chemistry from Gonzaga University and in 2005 earned his M.Ed. in Technology in Education from Lesley University. Jason is also one of the founding members of THE Company, a Non-Profit Organization focused on helping districts, teachers, and students design and implement complete solutions for using technology to support data-driven best educational practices. When he can't look at a computer screen anymore Jason enjoys Latin Dancing, drinking copious amounts of Starbuck's Coffee, and rock climbing with friends.
