The innovation that will change the Internet forever....

What if there was a site that would answer questions with real answers and the answers would include properly attributed sources? You could ask "How high is Mount Rainier" and it would tell you.

How could this change public education? I would hope significantly. The first versions of search engines provide information in an instant and yet too many classrooms are still focused on "fact-finding" assignments. Perhaps we should be considering something different..... perhaps assignments that require students to use facts while analyzing, synthesizing and creating products/presentations/proposals requiring high-order thinking skills?

Check it out and let me know what you think....

Iago's Gravatar Although Google is totally awesome and I use it every day, it still is not Hal 2000. Maybe Wolfram Alpha will be closer to an AI system that intuitively uses voice-recognition and with which one can actually hold a conversation while seeking information. That would most certainly out-awesome Google.

Pam's Gravatar I totally agree. I think it's all a part of a total paradigm shift that is difficult for all of us to get our head around. It's not about teaching specific facts and information. It's about processes, analyzing, and synthesizing the information. If we don't all get there as teachers, we probably won't be able to withstand all that will be coming in the future.

wow gold's Gravatar Hi there…I am almost exactly one month behind you as I had surgery Dec. 4 in Miami Beach, FL. The warm weather helps and http://www.toppowerlevel.net I certainly don’t have to deal with snow or ice. Question: On your second visit to the doc, did he give you the instruction to do weight bearing at your own pace or with specific limits, and if so, what were they? I am scheduled for Jan 20 visit when I am expected to do wb with crutches. Also, how early did you do exercises, massages, and PT? Finally, when did you start ice?
I appreciate any answers you give me.
Thanks,
Eric
