The intended outcomes of this model include:

  • To answer the "What should we do with technology in classrooms?" question
  • To provide educators research/effective practice-based answers to technology integration questions
  • To be applicable to all teachers
  • To provide a common terminology for technology planning
  • To fit on one page
  • To focus on teaching and learning rather than products

The Tears of Technology Song! During the development of the "Tiers Model" we started talking about how we were going to diseminate the information. The idea of a song came out of that brainstorming session and Conn McQuinn and Forrest Fisher combined their talents to create "The Tears of Technology". It actually has nothing to do with the "Tiers" model but it's provided here just for fun! The "World Premier" performance was at NCCE 2006 in Portland.

Access the song and click the "Play" button to hear it. You will probably have to install the "Scorch" plugin first in order to play or print the song. Feel free to sing along! As this kind of song just has to be performed in the "Country and Western" style please add a significant amount of "twang" and/or "Willieisms". Enjoy!
